Michael DeBiase, Retired

Michael DeBiase received his Bachelor of Laws from the Faculty of Law at the University of Windsor in 1983. He was a recipient of the John H. Rodd Award in Conflict of Laws. His undergraduate studies were completed at Sir Wilfrid Laurier University in the Honours Business Co-Op Program during which he was employed with Coopers & Lybrand, Chartered Accountants.

Having completed his articles at the Windsor law firm of Bartlet & Richardes and the Bar admission course in London, he was called to the Ontario Bar in 1985. His past work experience has included working in the public sector with Canada Immigration and the Department of Customs and Excise, and as a sessional instructor at the University of Windsor, teaching business and commercial law. Since 1986, he has been in private practice, specializing in personal injury law. His practice is restricted to plaintiff litigation against insurance companies and does not include any defence work.

Michael has been a partner with the law firm Goldstein DeBiase since September 1993, where he has continued his practice in personal injury law. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association.
